DI and OOK - what is it and what does it need?
(very briefly)
ℹ️ DI (Destination Imagination) is the world's best international educational program for the development of children's and youth's creativity, based on STEM-ART learning (extended to STREAMS - Science, Technology, Research, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics, Social).
The program is year-round, annual and very demanding, but extremely refined and effective - present in Poland since 2004, with a spectacular culmination at the Country Creativity Tournament (Ogólnopolska Olimpiada Kreatywności - OOK) in March, and Global Finals (Kanas City, USA) in May.
💰 To make DI accessible to every child, it needs financial support. We are seeking Partners/Sponsors – both strategic and smaller. The total cost of the season (including OOK) is at least several hundred thousand złoty. We are flexible when it comes to arrangements – in line with the Partner's goals.
⛑️ We strongly encourage and invite you to join us! We'd be happy to tell you more about why DI is so unique and valuable; additional information can be found below.

Destination Imagination in Poland
and cooperation with Partners
(a bit more information)
ℹ️ 1. Destination Imagination (DI) is the most creative - year-round and annual - international educational program developing key competencies of the future - creativity and innovation - among children and youth aged 4–26. It teaches project-based learning and teamwork and has been present in Poland since 2004.
📖 DI is based on STEM-ART/STEAM, expanded to STREAMS (Science, Technology, Research, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics, Social). Participants are children and youth mainly from primary and secondary schools (although we also have early learning/preschool and university levels). We start the season in the summer by translating a packet of 400+ pages of materials. In the autumn, we train teachers (Team Managers /Creativity Trainers) from all over Poland, who form 7-member teams of kids and work with them until the Olympiad following the DI methodology.
💰 The cost of running a DI Season is PLN 300,000–700,000 (depending on the formula and scale of growth) - including a year-round team of 2–4 people and overhead costs. Without this, we cannot launch the program for the upcoming season (school year)...
ℹ️ 2. The March Country Creativity Tournament (Ogólnopolska Olimpiada Kreatywności - OOK) is an interdisciplinary, two-day educational event that serves as the grand finale of the teams' year-long work in the Polish chapter of the program - on complex projects (Team Challenges) - presented as theatrical/stage performances and scored by Appraisers on a multi-dimensional scale.
📖 A team chooses one of the Team Challenges and works on it throughout the entire school year until the Tournament (Team Challenges: 1. Fine Arts, 2. Improvisational, 3. Engineering, 4. Scientific, 5. Service Learning, 6. Technical + 7. Early Learning /Rising Stars for preschool level). In addition, fast-paced and mysterious Instant Challenges are solved, and we organize the Buddy Challenge (competing teams working together).
💰 The cost of organizing the 2-day Tournament for several hundred children is PLN 300,000–600,000 (depending on the formula and number of teams) - including venue hire (a hall for 1,000+ people + a dozen rooms for challenges and workshops), a large stage /LED screens /AV technology, a dedicated organizing team of several people (December–March), custom t-shirts and pins for all participants, catering, and accommodation for 150+ volunteers, filming, venue branding, and materials. Without the Tournament, the DI Program loses its core value...
ℹ️ 3. The May Global Finals (GF) in the USA brings together winning teams from around the world (several thousand participants). Polish teams have repeatedly achieved great success at Global Finals. Other international events are also available for Country Tournament winners - e.g., the Asian Creativity Tournament in Beijing in December.
📖 Participation in Global Finals is not only a competition, but also a rich integration program that allows young participants to develop collaboration and creative thinking skills while experiencing diverse cultures. The trip strongly motivates teams for further growth.
💰 The cost of participation for 1 Team in Global Finals is PLN 90,000–120,000 (flights, transfers, accommodation, meals; Global Finals registration fee: USD 5,000/Team; sightseeing, additional program before/after GF). We want at least several Polish teams to attend...
⛑️ Any support in this area is greatly needed! Please contact us if you have any ideas on how to help this project (engaging your company/organization, connecting us with someone suitable, etc.)! More detailed information (in Polish) can be found in the presentation below.

The Destination Imagination program develops creativity and key 21st century competencies: creativity and innovation; teamwork and communication; critical and analytical thinking; problem-solving and design thinking; technological and research skills; artistic and presentation competencies; flexibility and stress resistance; leadership and responsibility; empathy and social engagement.
At the end of the Polish DI Season, Teams participate in the Country Creativity Tournament (in March), where they present their Team Challenge solutions in a form of short stage performances (with a script, costumes, set design, and the inclusion of required STEM elements, etc.), competing for scores. They also participate in the quick-paced on-the-go Instant Challenge and the Buddy Challenge. During OOK25, Tournament Appraisers awarded 55 teams with 4,526 partial scores in just one day (based on several criteria, described in the Package), from which the final scores for the Team Challenges and Instant Challenges were calculated.
The winners of the Country Tournament earn the right to represent Poland at Global Finals in the USA, held in May in Kansas City. The top Tournament teams also participate in other international DI events (Qatar, China, Turkey, etc.). Their additional challenge is to prepare for performing in English, rebuild their decorations for transport, and raise funds for the trip (schools, local governments, sponsors, family).
